So a bit about Petra....
As long as she can remember, Swedish born Petra Börner, has always been interested in art and craft. As a child, much of summer holidays were spent creatively, dying fabrics and yarn, sewing and weaving with her mum and aunts. After A-Levels, she worked as an illustrator and animator but in 1994 decided to move to London to study fashion at Central St. Martins.
Although, still in her mid-thirties, Börner has already produced an outstanding body of work including amazing textiles patterns for Cacharel under the creative direction of Clement Ribeiro, Jonathan Adler and Louis Vuitton. She has also produced a beautiful range of book covers for Penguin poetry, the cover for Lloyd Jones’ novel Mister Pip (published by John Murray) short-listed for the Booker Prize 2007 and regularly work for Habitat as well as various glossy magazines such as Elle, Harper’s Bazaar and the World of Interiors.
Versatile, creative and talented, Petra Börner works as easily with illustrations, textile prints or art and has become a master at turning her hand to many creative disciplines such as collage, drawing, painting and embroidery.
Petra has a wonderful botanical style to her technique, she infuses colour and shape producing sincere intrinsic designs. There is an organic quality involved in her work with great attention to detail. Her striking prints make a wonderful statement piece in any room creating a visual delight you will be naturally drawn to.
